So I know you think that I am gonna whine about the dry, frosty winter. But no,
I won’t whine, not this time. I know what I need to do. I am going to something
which is very common yet is so much mine. My favorite way to warm up this
winter a - HOT STONE MASSAGE!!!! Here’s why I recommend it for everyone:
Muscle
Aches: It is the best way to warm up, and soothe aching muscles.
Heated stones saturate the muscles with warmth alleviating aches, and the
placement of the stones on pressure points gives deep penetration to tired
muscular areas. The premise behind hot stone massage therapy is that the direct
heat of the stones relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist access to their
deeper muscle layers. Combining hot stone protocols with a full body massage
provides a very healing and effective experience. The hot stones also expand
blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body. The hot stones
have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote
deep relaxation.
Circulation: Poor
circulation in your extremities can lead to stiff muscles and lactic acid build
up. Hot stones help improve circulation by opening up the blood vessels and
allowing more oxygen and nutrients to reach your muscles. Improved circulation
releases toxins, assisting in improved self-healing. The stones are placed
strategically to help improve the circulatory system to the problem areas.
Reduced
stress: Relieving stress is very
beneficial both for the mind and body. Massage improves relaxation & washes
away stress symptoms, lowers blood pressure, reduces fatigue symptoms and
re-energizes the mind and spirit.
Other than that, it also
~
Provides
relief from pain associated with fibromyalgia, arthritis, carpal tunnel
syndrome and other chronic conditions.
~
Increases
flexibility in joints, aiding in easier mobility and movement.
~
Relieves
pain and tension created by strained and contracted muscles.
~
Good
for chronic and overuse injuries.
Massage contributes to the
reduction of stress by relaxing the nervous system. The body & mind are
revitalized, circulation is increased & toxins are reduced. Regular
massage promotes a healthy immune system, a healthy mind and a happy soul!!
This winter, combine the benefits of your regular massage
with the healing heat of hot stones to get the best of both worlds.
